Sources have announced that Rob Zombie will be directing the new Munsters Movie from Universal. Traditionally directing on the darker side of horror, many are asking if we will see the lighter side of Zombie. According to sources, that is not that case. Apparently he has been hired to give the family an “R” rated flair.
Rob Zombie’s wife Sheri Moon Zombie will star as Lily, and Jeff Daniel Phillips is set to play her Frankenstein husband Herman.
Although the Munsters had a quick 2 year run from 1964 – 1966, they were able to crank out 70 episodes. During a Howard Stern interview, Zombie mentioned seeing every episode multiple times.
Universal has not yet announced a release date. At this point they have not confirmed production, but there are many Zombies that hope this movie pushes forward.
