Music Stores
Years ago, before Spotify, there were these things called… music stores. A place where prehistoric man would venture out to buy physical product to place into their preferred music box player. While listening in a hypnotic trance, the consumer would hold a little pamphlet, provided with their new purchase, inches from their face reading the microscopic text of the lyrics, cover to cover.
Music Streaming platforms have definitely helped indie artists get their music to the masses, but it’s important not to forget about the music stores. After all, these mom and pop music shops used to be the backbone of the music industry. My personal favorite are the record shops that are in historic buildings located in the downtown district of their small town.
