In Portals To Hell Jack Osbourne and Katrina Weidman investigate the world’s most sinister haunted locations they suspect are gateways to the spirit world.
The Travel Channel series has been a great success thus far. One fan favorite tactic Jack and Katrina implement is the use of footage from their personal cameras. It makes you feel like you’re right in the action. Jack and Katrina are great hosts and they compliment each other really well. They both have enough credibility in the paranormal/tv space that they can just be themselves without having to “stand out.”
They don’t try to be all “Hollywood” and only turn to the crew during a classic jump scare moment. Breaking the fourth wall is also a good move from a production standpoint because it allows Jack and Katrina to split up and cover more ground. Now they have production and crew to converse with rather than speaking straight to camera which can get Blair Witch Boring in a New York Minute.
In the first two episodes they capture some unexplained light anomalies on camera and had some personal experiences. People watching paranormal shows shouldn’t expect to see the most mind blowing paranormal evidence in every episode.
Katrina’s co-star in Paranormal State, Heather Taddy, makes appearances in multiple episodes of Portals to Hell when Katrina is unavailable. For air dates visit travelchannel.com
