Apple Music vs Spotify

Which music platform is preferred by independent musicians, Spotify or Apple music? The majority of artists we speak to seem to prefer Spotify. There was quite a bit of push back from artists at the music streaming platforms began. But now it seems they like the idea of residual payments, like the radio, instead of a one time payment for their music.
